A&S Hearing is the latest shop to be opening its doors in Holbeach town centre following Petite Street along with improvements to The Chequers and Red Lion Hotel.

South Holland district councillor Tracey Carter has welcomed A&S Hearing to the town.

She said: “It is great to have this new shop in the town centre and it is good to have another independent trader.

“I have been in there and they are really helpful.

“Things are moving along nicely in Holbeach.”

Mr Lewis is able to offer a range of services, including musician moulds, hearing aids and ear wax removal, which costs £30.

Mr Lewis, who has been an audiologist for 26 years, says the difference made by ear wax removal can be instantaneous.

He said: “It is nice to watch when people can suddenly hear again once we have removed the wax or fitted a hearing aid.

“There was one customer who came alive again when she was able to hear after a treatment.

“Often people learn to live with hearing problems. Families can point out that the television is on quite loud or people don’t go out as they feel others are mumbling.”

Holbeach and Spalding have been earmarked for exciting plans to spend £500,000 on helping to attract more people to both town centres.

Plans include the refurbishment of toilets, new street furniture, programme events and creation of a heritage trail.

During a recent Holbeach Civic Society meeting, members were given the opportunity to shape the town’s future.

Discussions were focused on: heritage, historic buildings; public realm such as street furniture; and shops along with what Holbeach’s unique selling point was.

Holbeach could win up to £10 million from the Future High Street Fund if a business case is approved next year.
